Our process is quite simple
in it's complexity.
Consider this the cliff notes of our working process. Obviously we have to start at the beginning. Call us. E-mail, Facebook or Twitter us. You can even write us... like with a pen on paper. Yeah.. they still make stamps. Let's initiate. Once all the back and forth is done, we shake hands or hug or nod to each other from across the room. Then we get to work. Deep dive. In a short time we'll know more about your enterprise and your marketplace than you may want us to know. Full immersion. We're off to a good start. Next, strategy and creative actually intertwine. The resulting creative and strategic briefs become the roadmaps to our final destination. Buckle your seatbelts. We know where we're going. Then we make cool stuff. Or pretty stuff. Our People
Steve Wedeen: Steve is the creative leader of the VWK crew. Steve hung out at the Fillmore East as a young man, rides a Harley, enjoys a nice Lagavulin scotch from time to time, and will be the first to tell you that design and art are one in the same. Who are we to argue with that?
Richard Kuhn: Rainmaker extraordinaire, Richard is the managing partner at VWK. When not bringing home the bacon, he's probably on a jaunt to some far-flung, exotic locale. "Où est Richard?"
Lonnie Anderson: We're never quite sure where our roving and raving media man, Lonnie is. Last we heard, he was on location in Dubai, working on a series of infomercials starring Iggy Pop and MacCauley Culkin.
Rudi Backart: Rudi cut her design teeth on the streets of Chicago, the city of big shoulders. Not only that, she actually knows Milton Glaser. Trump that. Rudi is also the only person on our team that can wax poetic about typography and equine adventure, usually in the same sentence.
Wendy Forbes: Wendy brings a no nonsense approach to her role as "Official Cat Herder." She is, without a doubt, the most "connected" person on the staff. If VWK were the Mafia, Wendy would be our consigliere.
Webb Johnson: Webb's life story includes so many foreign locales, he could moonlight as a location scout for the Travel Channel, or perhaps, a CIA agent. He is cultured, connected and congenial, with a healthy dash of business acumen.
Jodi Mari: Jodi never met a printer she couldn't wrangle into submission. Plus, she can recite from memory the CMYK values for every paint color we've used in our home office, and trust us, that's a lot.
Stan McCoy: Stan is the epitome of a "go-to guy." He keeps his cool, even when the rest of us are going berserk, and could program a website while the creative team fights over the last tablet of Lexapro.
Stephanie McTee: Steph likes to spend time kicking up dirt on her mountain bike or rockin' out down on 6th Street in Austin, Texas. Yet, she can pound out a page design under an extreme deadline, and do it with a smile on her face.
Nick Tauro Jr.: Nick is our copywriter and in-house comedian. He enjoys taking blurry pictures and is currently working on his memoir, tentatively titled "What Are You Looking At?"
Jamie Jett Walker: Jamie runs with the design world glitterati and does so wearing her mother's shoes. She once was notoriously escorted out of a museum for criticizing their wayfinding signage.
Michal Weaver: Michal keeps all the "i's" dotted and all the "t's" crossed. She splits her time balancing the company books and the company's ch'i.
Chip Wyly: Chip is a bonafide techie. Throw a digital camera in his hands, and he'll not only give you the shots you asked for, but will probably rewrite the user's manual too.
